Matthew 24: 7-8

Matthew 24:7-8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famine, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrow.

We live in a world of over eight billion people, having doubled since 1975. Of the eight billion plus people, there are multitudes of people filled with anger and fear, all looking for answers, yet take their anger out on anyone who will respond. There are wars and rumors of wars all across the world. If a country is not at war with another, it is an ally of one side or the other, being ready to step into the war at a moment’s notice to expand the battlefield. Right now we have Russia against Ukraine, Hezbollah and Iran against Israel, with concerns about Iran and China against America.  We see chaos on every continent, which is priming the world to be ready for the next event to come upon the earth. 

The world has become acclimated to this chaos as being part of normal living and sadly, for many, that is all they have ever known. When the next event happens, the world will be unprepared. They will be eating and drinking and people will be carrying on their business as usual, not suspecting that the greatest event in the last 2000 years is about to take place.

What is this traumatic event that is so imminent that it will be so horrible to where it will affect the whole world? For most of the world, it will be the time of tribulation - a time so horrible that it will be far worse than the world has ever experienced since the flood of Noah back 4000 years ago. For believers who trust in Jesus, however, they are about to experience the most wonderful event since the resurrection of of our Lord 2000 years ago. Which side are you on?
