James 1:5-6

James 1:5-6 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God who gives to all liberally and without reproach and it will be given to him. For let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
How many times have you pondered over a decision - swaying from "should I, shouldn't I," totally relying on your own decision making? In our everyday life, we make decisions all day long. Often we don't even think about God regarding the natural things in life, but just go about our business consumed in what we are doing. Then suddenly, we are faced with having to make an important decision and we get confused, not certain what to do, or automatically go to the wisdom we have been taught, which may be good or not so good. Then when it doesnt turn out so good, we then go to the Lord to hear from Him, which was what we should have done in the first place. We were then like the wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. That is being double minded - exactly what the Bible tells us not to be.
James 1:7-8 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man unstable in all his ways.
God, however, wants us to rely upon Him in ALL affairs of our life - spiritually and naturally. The Holy Spirit wants to help us in our natural things in life as well. In fact, the majority of the times when we needs God's direction it will be in natural things.
I encourage you today to keep planting God's Word in your heart so when decisions need to be made, your first thought will be to seek God - asking for His wisdom.

Develop the habit of seeking God in all decision-making by simply reaching up to say: "I need your wisdom here God," or "Lord I need the mind of Christ in this situation, so I am seeking your instruction here." Then listen for His voice. The Lord may give you a scripture verse or give a simple answer in your spirit. Then trust what He says and do accordingly - for then you will have the mind of Christ.
