Ephesians 6:15

Evangelist Jon Leighton: January 2015

Ephesians 6:15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the Gospel of peace.

How blessed we believers are to abide under the shadow of the Almighty AND be able to put on the armor of God so that we are armored against Satan and His forces. This is something the world doesn't understand. and unless we help get the word out, they will stay in the darkness being vulnerable to all the schemes of the devil until he destroys them.

Yesterday we girded up our loins, in protection and freedem as we put on the belt of truth. We know that God's Word is truth, and that is what we arm ourselves with. As imitators of God, living out of our secret place and under God's protective armor, we are given instruction on how to use our weapons of warfare against Satan.  As God's representative on this earth, we shod our feet with the preparation of the Gospel of peace, meaning wherever we go - even in our armor - we go in peace, always representing Christ and His Word.

A soldier always needs sturdy, good footwear, never knowing the conditions he may have to walk in.  The roads may be rough and long, he could slip on a rock or in the mud, twist an ankle.  Sometimes the continuous blows of the enemy will take a soldier down if he is not planted firmly in good footwear, standing firm on a solid foundation as the enemy badgers at him over and over.  At opportune times, a soldier needs to stop periodically and rest to regain strength to continue the uncertain journey ahead.

The Offerings - The Peace Offering

In the same way, we, as Christian soldiers in the army of God, never know what kind of situations we will face in our daily walk as ambassadors for Christ.  Are we planted on solid ground, having footwear ready for battle? Are we shodding our feet with peace wherever we go? The Gospel is peace - do we bring it forth in peace? Will we be able to function as God intended in our daily walk - strong, confident, and ready?  Do we stop periodically to rest again under the shadow, spending time with God and His Word to regain our strength? When our hearts are quieted with the Lord, we are again ready for duty.

Reminder about a regular quiet time. Read on about spending time in ...

Blessings,
