Psalm 91:11-12

Psalm 91:11-12  For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. They shall bear you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.

Because Satan roams around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour, it is especially important that we have all the protection from God that we need. When we live in the secret place in God, under His protection, He gives us added protection by dispatching angels to watch over us. These guardian (meaning warring) and ministering angels are given charge over our lives to take care of us so that Satan cannot devour us with his schemes and traps. 

So many believers think that all believers have one guardian angel assigned to them; however, that is not necessarily true. The concept on one guardian angel comes out of these two versus; however, it does not say one guardian angel. We have as many angels as we need at all times because we have guardian AND ministering angels assigned as we need them.

Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation.
Psm 34:7 The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them. 

The condition of this wonderful promise remains as long as we live in our secret place in God.  When we do, we are under the constant care of God's angels as they keep guard over our lives. God has dispatched His angels to watch over His children as servants to minister ang guard on our behalf. That means when we need warring angels to fight Satan and his demonic hosts, they are right there to work on our behalf fighting against against the evils that want to attack us. When we need ministry, the ministering angels are there to give us exactly what we need. Abiding in the secret place then puts us under the protection of angels wings - for they are God's protection over us. 

How God's angels keep us in all our ways is not known to us, but we can be certain, by the Word of God, that they are surrounding us to protect us from all harm as well as minister to us as we need.  Whether they repel demons, counteract spiritual plots, or even ward off diseases, we do not know. One day, as we enter into heaven, perhaps the Lord will reveal all that we have been protected from.

Another way of explaining God' protection over us is shown in a chart I created many years ago on how we can stay protected under God's care. We receive blessings from God or cursings from Satan - all depending on who we put ourselves under. Our covering will either be the protection of God or under the attacks of Satan. Outside of God's protection is Satan's demonic realm filled with sin of every sort. We then choose which realm we want to live in. 

When we choose to step into sin, God has not promised, nor ever given any protection of angelic hosts. While, as believers, yes, we will miss the mark and sway out of God's perfect will from time to time, or as verse 11 says here in a little different manner - if we dash our foot (stumble) against a stone, God's angels are there to lift us up with their hands to pull us back into right and solid relationship in Christ, unless we rebelliously choose otherwise.

So then, we can see the importance of keeping our faith by obeying God's ways above the ways of the world by staying under the secret place in God where we can stay protected against all enemy forces? Let's not give Satan an inch, for when we do he will take a mile and run with it.
