The Holy Spirit Will Guide You - Apartments and Houses for Rent

John 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth has come, he will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

At the Last Supper, Jesus was encouraging His disciples that after He left this earth, meaning He was about to die and go back to His Father in heaven, He would send His Spirit to come to them. Just as Jesus spoke only the truths of God to them, Jesus' spirit would be doing the same thing.

Advocate Holy Spirit

So then, how can we apply this scripture verse to our life? This verse is a promise from Jesus that He would send a part of Himself to those who believe in Him. His spirit, as He calls the Spirit of Truth, Advocate, Helper, and Holy Spirit will guide believers in all truth, and whatever He speaks to us, He does not speak on His own authority, but what He hears from the Father. Just as Jesus only spoke what He heard from His Father, the Holy Spirit will only speak what He hears from Father God.

Jesus earlier had given the promise to His disciples that this same Spirit will come to dwell within them to be a constant companion will continuously remind them of what is truth. The same applies to us, as Jesus' sent His Spirit to indwell all believers in Christ Jesus. We can count on every word Jesus promised - that His Spirit would teach us all truth and that we never have to worry about making wrong decisions when we listen to the voice of the indwelling Holy Spirit in us.

Bible Teachers Have an Advocate, The Holy Spirit

How often do we forget that we have God's Spirit living within us to be our helper, comforter, advocate, teacher, guide and strengthener every moment of every day. We can call out to Him any time 24/7. Because He lives within us, He will never leave nor forsake us. That is Jesus' promise to us. Today, can you call upon the Holy Spirit to guide you through this day, asking Him to teach you God's truth in every situation you may face today? When you do, you can be certain that you are walking in God's perfect will for you and that you are walking in God's truth throughout your day.
