Ephesians 1:3

Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. 

Blessed/blessing (G2127 & G2128) means to eulogize or speak well of – praise.

The Godhead is worthy to be eulogized (blessed), and the eulogizer (Godhead) places His focus on the people whom He eulogizes (blessed) with spiritual eulogies (blessings) in heavenly places. There are 19 blessings in the first three chapter of Ephesians, and the last three chapters are how to walk in those blessings.

What then are those blessings?

1. God chose the Gentile people to be a part of His family (vs 1:4)
2. God predestined the Gentile people before the foundation of the world (vs 1:5)
3. God created us to be made acceptable with Him (vs 1:6)
4. God gave us redemption (forgiveness of sins) through the blood of Jesus. (vs 1:7-8)
5. God made known to us the mystery of His will. (vs 1:9)
6. He will gather His believers up in one at the end of the Gentile fullness of time. (vs 1:10
7. We have obtained an inheritance (vs 1:11)
8. We were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise (vs 1:13)
9. We’ve been made alive in spite of our sins. (vs 2:1-5)
10. We’ve been raised to sit together with Christ in heavenly places (vs 2:6)
11. We will co-rule & co-reign with Christ for 1000 years (vs 2:7)
12. We’ve been given the privilege of coming to God for our eternal salvation (vs 2:8-9)
13. God created and prepared us to be His workmanship – with gifts and talents (vs 2:10).
14. We’ve been made near to God because of the blood of Jesus (2:13)
15. We have access to come to God through the indwelling Holy Spirit (vs 2:18)
16. Our bodies are now a temple for the dwelling of God (H/S).(vs 2:22)
17. We’ve been called to reveal the mysteries of the will of God to other Gentiles. (vs 3:9)
18. We have the authority to reveal God’s power to Satan and his demons (vs 3:10)
19. We’ve been given boldness & confidence to access the throne room of God (vs 3:12)

Prayer:  Thank you, Jesus, for what you have done for me.

Eph 3:20-21 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the Church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
