Jer 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

The Prophet Jeremiah originally wrote this promise from God to the Jews as they were in exile in Babylon. While their minds and hearts were not on God, God’s heart and thoughts were still toward His people. His plans for them were never of evil, but peace. Regardless of their rejection of Him, God still had a future of hope for His people.

God never changes His mind toward His people. Even when your thoughts drift away from Him, His heart and thoughts are always toward you. When He thinks of you, it is with love and anticipation of the use and fulfillment of His plans and purposes He has planned for you.

The love He has for you has been in His heart long before you were born. In order for Him to work in your life to accomplish those plans, He first desires that you receive His love by accepting Jesus as your Lord. Commit to follow Him through His Word and in prayer. In time, you will come to discover for yourself God’s plans and purposes for your life. Then this verse of promise will speak to your heart as you see your future unfolding. You will come to know that God, indeed, has always had His plans and purposes for your life, and His future for you is never of evil, but one that will give you a future of hope. Life will take on a new meaning as you experience the fullness of life that God has always intended for you to experience as you walk out His plans and purposes for your life.

Psm 40:5 Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works which you have done; And Your thoughts which are toward us cannot be recounted to You in order; If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.
