John 3:16

John 3:16  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.  NKJV

In Greek, the word “believe” means “to trust and rely upon-enough to die for that belief.”
A life of trust is a life of total surrender to Jesus

When God created the earth, He created His best creation in a man, followed by a woman to be like Him. He then gave man(kind) a body that would feed on the Tree of Life so they could live as a spirit/soul/body being forever ruling over the earth as God's steward. God's greatest desire is to have fellowship with the ones whom He created. God, however, gave mankind a free will to choose to love God in return. Sadly, mankind rejected God by obeying the lies of Satan; thereby, disobeying God's one rule to not eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. His penalty was physical death and thus man gave up his rulership over the earth by handing it over to Satan. His spirit/soul, however, would live on eternally, but not with God. His eternity would not be with the one whom he now served – Satan in hell. God then warned Satan (Gen 3:15) that the seed of the woman whom he just deceived would come back and overcome him one day. Jesus, as that seed of the woman, came into the world to save all who would believe in Him.  Jesus asks us to believe in Him as the Savior of the world so we can have eternal life with Him - spirit, soul, and body.

God loves you so much that He gave His only Son to suffer the penalties of your sin to free you from an eternity in hell. God is asking you to believe with your whole heart (not your head) in His Son and what He has done for you. God loves you that much where He was willing to have His Son suffer for your sins. Will you choose Him today?

PRAYER: God, I choose to believe with my whole heart that Jesus is Your Son, He died on the cross for my sins & You rose Him from the dead. Since I believe in Jesus, You promised to raise me up to heaven to live eternally with You when I die.  I choose to follow You!

I BELIEVE: Jesus is my Lord and Savior! I trust you.
