February 8 - Philippians 1:6

February 8
Philippians 1:6

He who has begun a good work in me | Be good to me, God is good, Jesus

Phil 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Confident – G3982 = Agree, firmly persuaded, convinced, to rely by inward certainty

God is the One who transforms hearts to anyone who chooses to believe and accept Jesus into their life. Our eternal salvation from the penalty of sin occurs at that moment. This process is called the New Birth – or becoming born again – born of the Spirit. We have been justified by our faith in Christ Jesus as He now lives within our heart and heaven is our eternal home.

It doesn’t end there, however! That is only the beginning of what God wants to do in our lives. God’s will for us is that we become more and more like Christ through His continuous work in our lives. It’s an ongoing process – day in and day out that leads toward spiritual maturity - a work of sanctification.

It is also God’s will that He finishes this process in our lives until the Day of Jesus Christ – referring to the day Jesus comes to rapture His Church home…when the dead in Christ will resurrect, along with those of us who are alive, and we will all be raptured into heaven as Jesus leads His bride into the Holy City in which He has prepared for us.

Exciting news for us Christians is that when we are raptured, meeting Jesus in the clouds, as our eyes meet His, another work of God will happen within us – we shall become like Him. In other words, we will then become glorified - spirit, soul and body.

We live our lives from justification to sanctification until glorification.

Are you confident of this very thing – that God has begun a good work in you will He will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ? Keep yielding your life over to the Lord every day until the very end. Your life will continuously change as you become more and more like Christ. Then one day – when Jesus comes to rapture you and bring you to His home planned for you, you WILL become like Him – glorified.

PRAYER: I yield myself to you today to do a work of sanctification in me.
I DECLARE: God IS doing a good work in me and will complete it when I see Jesus face to face.

1 John 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
