Ephesians 2:10
Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
It is so comforting to know that God foreknew and planned out each of our lives even before we were born. He loves each one of His creation so much in that He fashioned a full plan for our life – and He so desires that we walk in His plans and purposes for us.
God knew before you were born whether you would come to believe in Christ or whether you would reject His wonderful offer of love and salvation. For those of us who chose to receive God’s offer of salvation, we have been saved by our faith in Christ that comes out of God’s grace freely given to us.
God created you first of all to be His child – and then, as His child, it is His plan that you become His workmanship, using the gifts and talents He placed within you. While you were freely saved by God’s grace, you were also created for good works for God. Works has nothing to do with our salvation, but once you come to Christ, our works – our right living and works then give glory to God, as well as give purpose to our life. You see, when you are walking in God’s perfect plan and purpose for your life, life has meaning, life gives fulfillment, and your life is then pleasing to God.
Do you know how to walk in God’s workmanship for you? Are you using the gifts and talents He gave you, or even the sharing of your experiences to help others in need? If you are unsure what are God’s plans and purposes for your life, God will reveal them to you as you diligently seek Him in prayer and simply do what you love to do in service for the Lord. It could be helping a less fortunate neighbor, working in the kitchen at church, serving as an usher, teaching a class, preaching a sermon, or sharing with those struggling in areas that you have overcome. We all are different, having various gifts and talents and experiences, coming out of various backgrounds that God wants us to use to give Him glory as we joyfully serve others.
