February 2 - Isaiah 54:17

February 2
Isaiah 54:17

Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me, says the Lord.

While this promise was given to Israel, the Church can also take this promise to heart, because as believers in Christ, we are God’s children and He takes care of His own. When God said that no weapon formed against us will prosper, He meant it. Remember, God protects His people from harm through weapons of the tongues or force. Therefore, any weapon of the tongue or force used against you is destined to be destroyed because God will take care of those who did the destruction. While God may allow the weapon to strike, and if it does, God has a greater good for you than the pain of the immediate blow. His promises are part of our inheritance.

Our Inheritance In Christ, By Femi Aribisala - Premium Times Opinion

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

The judging tongue comes from unbeliever and believers alike. Sadly, the poison of the tongue is used even in the Church and it happens all the time. Behind every judging tongue is Satan who comes to rob, kill and destroy. While you may expect it from the world, it is hard when it comes from Christians.

We have all been on the receiving end of a judging tongue at one time or another. It probably hurts most when the judging tongues comes from a Christian because he or she should know better. This is why Jesus told us in Matt 7:1 never judge others because that judgment will come back on you. This is also why the Apostle James warned us on the wickedness of the tongue, and how we are to guard it. Put those two elements together – judging with the tongue, you have destruction. Destruction comes from only one place - Satan. The last thing God wants is for His people to be pawns of Satan by using these destructive weapons of judging others and doing it by the use of our tongue against each other.

If you have ever been on the backlash of a judging tongue, take heart because this verse in Isaiah 54:17 is your promise that God is taking care of you with whatever weapon comes against you.

Psm 91:14-16 Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him, with long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.

I DECLARE: My God takes care of me.

MY PRAYER:  Thank you, Lord for the promises in Your Word. I believe them, I purpose to live them, and I trust in them for my life.
