Luke 11:9
Luke 11:9 And I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be open to you.
How often have you asked God for something in prayer and either did not receive your answer right away, or you simply didn’t receive what you asked for. While some prayers seem harder to receive, we must never forget that God is always working behind the scene. Most times God is working things out through many people and situations to get your prayer answered, so we must be patient with God and keep seeking and keep knocking.
What I am saying: If you ask anything that is supported by His Word, don’t give up on God, but be persistent while you wait for the manifestation of your answered prayer. Stay confident that whatever you ask for according to His Word, God has heard your prayer and will answer it in His timing.
A verse I have always clung to for answered prayer comes from Romans 8:28, which is a promise from God. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Then I answer those conditions: Is my prayer request supported by the Word of God? Yes! Do I love God? Absolutely! Am I called according to His purpose? If I am living a life pleasing to God, purposing to follow His ways for my life? If the answer is ”yes,” then I can be absolutely confident that God IS working all things out for my good.
When you go to the Lord for answered prayer, find a scripture verse to cling to that supports your request and lay it at the feet of the Lord. It isn’t that God needs to hear that scripture promise – but you do! Even when you don’t see immediate results, keep repeating that scripture promise to yourself to either build your faith or keep your faith built up for that answered prayer. Then as you keep knocking and seeking, you can be confident that God IS working behind the scenes on your behalf. So don’t become weary while you wait!
1 John 5: 14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
