August 22 - Ephesians 2:18

August 22
Ephesians 2:18

As we look at blessing #15 of the 19 spiritual blessings that Christians have, we learn several blessings through this one little verse.

Holy spirit access to the father | PDF

Ephesians 2:18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

Jesus died for the sins of all mankind, bringing Jew and Gentile together as "one." In a divided world, Christianity was offered to the world, so that in and through Christ, mankind has access to God Almighty. It is now 2000 years since the beginning of the Church and sadly, the world continues to divide - even in the Church. Today we have over 1500 different Christian denominations - each stating they have the full truth, often looking down on other denominations as being less superior. No one group of Christians then or now, is any more superior than the other and no one group of Christians has all the answers.  Jesus preached the same Gospel then and that same Gospel is the answer for us today. Nothing has changed.  Jesus is still the bridge between all religions and Jesus is still the bridge between all denominations in the Church. Through Him, we have His Word to show us His Truth!

As believers in Christ Jesus, we all have the indwelling Holy Spirit living within us. This promise of having access by one Spirit to the Father is available to all believers. We are not only able to come near to God because of His indwelling Spirit, we also have access to be in His presence anytime - yes, I said anytime! How wonderful is that?  Every believer has the same access to God through the same Holy Spirit - any where and anytime.

Who Is God?: ABBA FATHER

As believers in Christ, having the indwelling Holy Spirit, we can call God Almighty our Father. What a privilege that is. Unbelievers, however, have no legal right to call God their father.  That means, as Christians, God is our Abba Daddy (Greek meaning) - a relationship that is very close and intimate.  We must never forget that as Christians, we all have access to our Father God through the indwelling Holy Spirit that lives within our hearts - all because of what Christ has done for us. So then, let's take advantage of this blessing to come to God our Father often - regularly - daily - every chance we can. He is always there waiting for us to commune with Him - all because of Christ Jesus.

Blessings,
