April 9 -Psalm 103:1-2
April 9
Psalm 103:1-5
Psalm 103:1-5 Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: 3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, 4 Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, 5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagles.
How do we best care for our soul? A soul that is content and happy is a soul yielded to our spirit, which in turn is yielded to the Lord. We are a spirit, we have a soul, and we live in the body. Because our soul, consisting of our mind, will, and emotions is the command center of our life. it is within our soul that we make decisions - good or otherwise.
Out of our spirit, we hear the words of the Holy Spirit to bless the Lord and to not forget all He has done for us. Often, however, we get wrapped up in life and forget all He has done for us, and as such we let our body dictate what we want and then our soul simply complies. Thus, the body becomes the command center of our life. Instead, it should be reversed where we let the Holy Spirit, who resides in our spirit, tell us what needs to be done, and then our soul dictates over our body what is to be done.
Right now, speak to your soul and command it to bless the Lord by quoting these verses as a declaration of who you are and what God has done for you.
"Bless the Lord, oh my soul and ALL that is within me, bless Your holy name. I will not forget Your benefits Lord - all You have done for me. You have forgiven my sins, You have healed all my diseases, You have saved my life from destruction, You continuously cover me with Your loving kindness and mercies, giving me good things. Therefore, my soul is renewed!"
Bless Your holy name!
