I Corinthinians 6:14

1 Corinthians 6:14 And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power.

As we celebrated Easter Sunday yesterday, it was shouting news because not only did God resurrect Christ Jesus from the dead, but Jesus became the first-fruit of the resurrection from dead. That means, for those who believe in Christ and who have have died, they await the resurrection of their bodies as well.  In other words, our natural bodies that once was cursed by sin will be gone. No more pain, no more sickness, no more temptations from Satan to pull us into his trap. We will become totally clean vessels as the Body of Christ. God will take our old natural body and resurrect it from the dead to receive a spiritual body full of life to live and serve Christ.

But, let's go beyond that. When Jesus ascended back to heaven 40 days after His resurrection, He went before the throne of God to again take on His glorified body (John 17:3-5). When Jesus comes to gather His Body together, at what is known as the Rapture of the Church, the dead in Christ will first arise to receive their resurrected bodies.  They will come alive again and join all the believers who are still alive on the earth.  Then Jesus will gather ALL of His Body together in the air to then receive their glorified bodies to then live on forever and ever. You see, Jesus wants us to be just like Him, not having just resurrected bodies, but having glorified bodies that will live on forever and ever. As the fully-joined Body of Christ, being just like Him, we will all have glorified bodies. That is shouting news for all believers in Christ.

1 John 3:2  Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

As a preparation of what is to come, let's take care of what we have now, knowing that someday we will have glorified bodies to live, serve and co-rule with Christ forevermore.  

1 Corinthians 6:20 For you were bought with a price; therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
