Every Life Is Built on a Belief — Only God’s Truth Stands
Ultimately we all choose who and what we believe in. We can choose God's way or the ways of the world!
Every Life Is Built on a Belief — Only God’s Truth Stands
Every person believes in something they hold as truth. What each individual accepts as “truth” is shaped by what they have been taught, exposed to, or influenced by. Whatever a person embraces as truth eventually becomes their faith — the foundation they stand on are the lenses through which they see life.
- Some call themselves atheists and claim belief in evolution, including the origin of mankind. Their faith rests only in what nature and the physical world can show them. Science continues to promote these ideas as proven fact, and much of society accepts them as truth - yet these claims have never been proven.
We must never forget that no one can claim truth reaching back to eternity past. Only by science continuous repeating its narrative will society accept what they claims as truth. Repetition never makes something true. Sadly, a life built only these claims lack hope, purpose in life, and eternal meaning. According to science, life is what you make it and then it is over. - Others believe in a god or a philosophy beyond themselves — which is generally shaped by what they were taught. This world is filled with religions of this kind. Some offer vague promises of an afterlife; others give no hope.
- For others, it is the Almighty God — yet even then, their understanding of Him may be mixed with cultural traditions, scientific theories, or other teachings that dilute biblical truth. Some even claim to be Christian; however, when human ideas blend with divine revelation, confusion replaces clarity.
- Then there is true Christianity, which claims only the Bible as God's Word to mankind -- the absolute source of truth. Christianity alone offers hope for this life and the life to come.
Almighty God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to earth to save humanity from sin and restore their relationship with Him. Through faith in Christ, mankind receives forgiveness, purpose in this life, and the promise of eternal life. God's Spirit now lives within those who accept this Truth, giving out guidance, instruction, hope, purpose, power, and assurance of life everlasting.
Can I prove God exists? I cannot show you God anymore than an athiest can prove God doesn't exist. BUT...I can show you proof of His existence by looking at nature and life itself, a changed life when someone accepts God through His Son Jesus the Christ because the one who humbly comes to God is a repentant person, asking God to change them from what they were into something that God wants them to be. That is true belief and trust in God. The power of the Holy Spirit comes to dwell within the believer in Christ to transform them into the image of Christ, which is totally based on love. As a result, you will find love in operation, along with the fruit of the Holy Spirit operating within their life leading to an eternity with God forevermore.
In all other modes of faith you will not see a transformed life -- only negative emotions in which the world sees as part of living - pride, fear, unforgiveness, sadness, hate, revenge, sickness, and death.
The truth is this: Every person serves some kind of god. For some, it is an external force. For others, it is an inward spiritual direction. But no one is truly neutral. Every heart bows somewhere.
Is your “truth” based only on what your eyes can see, or does your faith reach deeper — to believe in the God who loves you, calls you, and desires a relationship with you?
Ultimately, what are you basing your truth on? Your upbringing? Your taught traditions? Your experiences in life? Your feelings? Cultural acceptances? Scientific theories? Or is your truth based in the God of the Bible, which brings us the unchanging Word of God?
Society changes, cultural and scientific differences come and go, traditional beliefs in and outside of the church that do not line up with God's Word eventually shows itself to be false, and personal feelings are untrustworthy. The only dependable thing to ever rely upon is the unchangeable Word of God.
Matthew 7:24-27 “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. 25 Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. 26 But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. 27 When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”
I hope these words brought you hope in the promises of God through His Word today. What we need is compassion for those who believe in a truth outside of God's Word. For they lack the hope and promise of eternal life with God.
If you are having questions regarding exactly where your faith lies, pick up a Bible and search out God's truth. True faith begins with a choice. Choose to believe God! Choose to believe God's Word. Let your Bible become your close friend as God shows you His truth, as your life takes on greater meaning and purpose.
If, however, you do not have that hope of an abundant life here on earth and an eternity with God, it again starts with a choice. I say, choose God, through His Son Jesus Christ by praying this prayer with me. "God, I choose to believe in Jesus. Help me to understand those truths that are promised in Your Word. Change me Lord to be the person You created me to be as I search out Your truths in the Bible. I submit myself to you. Amen."
Ultimately, we all choose who and what we believe in! We can choose God's way or the way of the world!
John 8:32 When you know the truth, the truth will set you free!
