Declare the Word - Blessings #2-
![]()
I've been teaching a weekly Bible study on our identity in Christ. To learn how great God is and how much He loves us plays a vital part in how we see ourselves and how we connect with God. So then, to properly understand our identity that we have in Christ, we must get to know God intimately, to understand how deep His love is for us, and how to use the authority He gives to us as believers in Christ.
I've chosen to take a few episodes so gives you a snippet of what the first three chapters in Ephesians tells us about who we are in Christ, and how much God loves us, basing it on Ephesians 1:3 which says "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ Who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ."
As a recap, there are eighteen blessings that we have in Christ in the first three chapters of Ephesians.
Blessing #1 - We were chosen by God before the foundation of the world
In our last episode we looked at Ephesians 1:4 which says God chose us before the foundation of the world. God had you on His mind even before He created the heavens and the earth. You are that important to God. Obiously, He has a reason why He created you - having a plan and purpose for your life. In order to fulfill that purpose, He asks that you become yielded to Him, living a righteous life so He can use you in a way that fulfills His plans in you and you feel fulfilled in those plans and purposes He created within you.
Declare right now out loud
"I have been chosen by God to be holy and without blame - all because of Christ"
Blessing #2
Eph 1:5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.
God saw down the corridors of time to know that the Jews would one day turn their back on Christ - so God turned His affections toward the Gentiles - offering them eternal salvation through Christ. God even went deeper throughout the Gentile population to find you personally. If you come out of Gentilism, which most of us do, God preplanned that you, if and when you chose to come to Christ, to adopt you into His family.
To be a part of God's family, you have to choose Him back. God gave you a free will to choose or reject God's wonderful gift to be a part of His family. You must choose Jesus, God's son as the One who came to earth to pay the penalty for your sins. You see, we were all born into a sinful world, and we must accept God's free gift of salvation that comes through Christ. In Christ, you then become a part of God's family.
Declare this blessing out loud.
"I have been adopted by God into His family - all because of Christ"
Blessing #3
Eph 1:6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved.
It gave God great pleasure to accept you into His family. He loves you so much and want you to know how much He loves you. And God wants you to know through this verse that it gives Him great pleasure to have you into His family. "You are accepted in the Beloved."
Declare this blessing out loud
"God loves me so much that it gave Him great pleasure to accept me into His family."
If you have already accepted Jesus Christ, God's Son into your life, please know that you have already been adopted into God's family. He had it planned all along because He knew that one day your would say "yes" to Jesus.
If, however, you have not accepted Jesus into your life, and you want to be adopted into God's family, make the decision right now to say, "Jesus, I believe in you and want you in my life. I yield myself over to you and choose to follow after you all the days of my life."
I now say to you - "welcome to the family of God."
Now you say out loud...I now belong to the family of God
For all of you who have accepted Christ, you are now a king's kid - you are a part of the family of God - know that you are royalty, having the Creator of heaven and earth as your heavenly Father. Start seeing yourself as God's child. You are heavenly royalty, heirs to the Kingdom of God. And one day, you will co-rule and reign with Christ throughout eternity. You are the blessed of the blessed. And know that you can come to your heavenly Father any time 24/7, which takes us into Blessing #3.
Keep declaring out loud who you are in Christ - "I am chosen by God. It gave God great pleasure to adopt me into His family. Thank you Jesus for what you have done for me. Hallelujah!"
I have so much to tell you on our eighteen blessings listed in Ephesians 1-3, so I want you to join us for each blessing as we walk our way through Ephesians, chapters 1-3. See you in the next episode as we continue discovering our spiritual blessings that we have in heavenly places - all because of Jesus Christ and what He has done for us.
Until the next episode...keep declaring over and over the blessings you have - all because of Christ.
